Despite a long layoff of around six weeks because of the worst winter for many years

By three goals to nil in front of a crowd of 4,188 they soon recovered from that
to win six games on the run which took them into May, & the championship was almost won. The league was won with a fine away performance at Stalybridge Celtic the score
was 4-2 to Runcorn the scorers for Runcorn were Moss 2 Foster 1 Stewart 1 in front of a crowd of 3,153.
