Runcorn win a close game.

Runcorn won this game with a well taken goal with only two minutes to spare, It looked as though Guiseley were taking this game back home for a replay but Robinson had other ideas about the outcome.

In what was quite a physical match Runcorn had the edge in the first half & almost scored after 10 mins A shot from McAllister being saved well by the Guiseley keeper, However 5 mins later Chris Price opened the scoring for the Linnets with a well placed header (see pic No 1) . A few minutes later McAllister thought he had added a second (see Pic No 5) but the ref ruled it  offside. In the 21st min Guiseley equalized through Simon Trevitt & the game was all square at the half time interval.

In the second half Runcorn pushed forward but could not create any clear chances, This left a few gaps at the back & Guiseley made the most of it & should have scored a second but Trevitt blazed over the bar when well placed. It was clear that it would take something special to kill this game off & Robinson stepped up to score a magnificent goal from 30 yards a shot good enough to win any tie !!.

Pic No 1 is Chris Price scoring the first & No2 his team mates congratulate him.

   3 & 4 Guilseley defend well.

No 5 sees McAllister heading the goal which was disallowed.

No 7 Runcorn defend the river end.
